Our Organization
We’re Jess and Gary, a guinea-pig loving couple in Williamsville. We started the rescue in June 2024. I was at Bassett Park doing a vendor event and met someone who was also a guinea pig Mom. During the conversation, I said “Oh! We run a rescue too!” (This was NOT the case at that present moment). I remember pausing with my hand over my mouth as the woman said “I actually need to surrender my guinea pig! This must be fate!”
I went home and told Gary “We’re just gonna rescue one. How bad can it be?”
When we got Cinnamon, we realized she had bladder stones. Gary made the heartbreaking decision a week later to let her cross the rainbow bridge, as I was out of town at the time. In our heartbreak, we realized that Cinnamon was sent to us to encourage us to formally start the rescue.
And the rest is history.
We’re so grateful for everyone on our page and that we have a community behind us as we continue our work in Cinnamon’s (aka Beautiful Brown) memory.

Tia
Hi, my name is Tia, and I've been blessed to be rescuing all animals but mainly guinea pigs for several years now; long before this amazing rescue was even a glimmer in Jess and Gary's eye. I have never been more proud and committed to this amazing rescue and the love and care for these furry and not so furry potatoes. I am a momna to 11 of my core herd (4 of which were born to me by a learning experience beautiful mistake). I also have 4 fosters who I hope to find loving homes. Thank you, Jess, for this opportunity... it means everything to me.
Emily
Hi, I'm Emily, and I became involved in the rescue after my daughter adopted a pair of sweet girls from BGPMR in 2024. We have since fostered quite a few piggies as well, and love supporting the rescue in any way we can! You'll mostly (not) see mee behind the scenes of this very website. My husband John and I have two wonderful children and many pets, including a horse, two dogs, a sulcata tortoise, two cages of furry potatoes (aka guinea pigs), and a pot-bellied house pig!
Jessica
Hi I’m Jessi! I’m a preschool teacher from Buffalo New York, and have had guinea pigs ever since 2nd grade! What I love about them the most is how each one has a different and unique personality (sometimes with their own silly quirks!). I have been volunteering with the Buffalo Guinea Pig Mafia since the beginning, but began getting more involved in July 2025. When I’m not teaching or volunteering, you can find me hanging out with friends and family, bass fishing, or reading!
