What is owning

a guinea pig like?

Guinea pigs are great pets with the proper care and knowledge!
They will wheek loudly at their humans for food and enjoy living in pairs. They are social animals that can learn to trust humans with time and patience.
Guinea pigs also can learn to enjoy human company and love to be snuggled in a cuddle cup while you hold them!
Some guinea pigs will sit quietly with you while you watch tv or read a book. Others prefer to have closely supervised “floor time” to explore their surroundings.
Guinea pigs live 6-8 years on average. They do best with children over the age of 8 with adult supervision.
Guinea pigs also need Vitamin C daily, as their bodies do not produce it. This can easily be given by a Vitamin C cookie sold on Amazon or in most pet stores.
It’s essential that you play with or talk to your guinea pig daily. They thrive on regular human interaction. They also need their cages “spot cleaned” daily!
