Many pet store cages are not even close to the minimum cage space needed for them to live happy and healthy lives. Where do I get an appropriate cage? Amazon has two Midwest cages that meet minimum requirements (8 square feet). We like them both for different reasons, but the best cage for potential adopters depends on their lifestyle (other pets, young kids). The first option is Kavee cages. These cages are made from grids and coroplast and come in a large variety of sizes and color choices. Kavee cages are our favorite and they cost the same as a cage from Amazon! You can customize them with lids and stands which also makes cleaning much easier. Many people opt for the second cage as it has a hard plastic bottom and opens from the front so you’re not reaching down to pick up your furry friends.
